Semester Summary

I have learnt a great deal in the last few months while studying Web Design. The intricacies of Dreamweaver particully were a great help with my current work. The HTML newsletter particularly was a great help.

If I could change anything about the course however, it would be the structure of the assessments. I feel that fewer assessments but with greater weight assigned to each one would give students greater flexibility for creativity. It would also force students to produce higher qulaity work that would be beneficial for thier portfolios.

Overall a great experience!

Client Experience

My overall client experience was a positive one, although slightly time-pressured. My client was Splitz Gym, my current employer and the project was to develop a promotional platform for a viral advertising campaign under development. I decided a simple 3 page website was the best option, using bright, vibrant colors and clean, simple lines to convey to fun and fresh nature of the business.
A total of 3 meetings were held throughout the development project to confer with the business directors and to ensure that both our concepts were still heading in the right direction.
Overall the client was very happy with the end result and has already contracted me to design another web element within thier advertising schedule.
